The short version

Your diary stays on your device. Taplog has no user accounts and no server that stores what you eat. We do not use cookies and we do not run analytics.

What we store and where

Everything you log (food entries, goals, custom foods, usage counters for the recent chips) is saved in your browser's local storage on the device you are using, using IndexedDB where available. This data never leaves your device unless you explicitly export it yourself as a CSV file.

If you activate Taplog Pro, your license key is also stored locally in your browser so Pro features keep working offline.

What we send to anyone

Nothing, with one exception: when you enter a Pro license key, your browser sends that key to Polar Software Inc. ("Polar"), our payment and licensing provider, to verify it. That single request contains the key and an organization identifier; it does not contain any diary data. You can read Polar's privacy policy on polar.sh.

Cookies and tracking

Taplog sets no cookies and uses no analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The site loads self-hosted fonts from its own domain; no requests go to font CDNs.

Deleting your data

Clearing your browser's site data for this domain removes every trace of your diary. Because there is no server copy, deleted means deleted. If you want to keep a backup, export a CSV first (Pro feature).

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update this page and its date. The archived truth remains simple: your food data belongs to you and lives with you.
